daredevil-netflixThe interest in Netflix’s new Marvel TV series has been building up as we get closer and closer to the April 10th release of all of Daredevil season 1. With just a few short months standing between us and 13 episodes, its about time we saw actor Charlie Cox in action as the Daredevil, fighting crime in Hell’s Kitchen. Thankfully Marvel and Netflix have brought us a trailer today that actually gives us a real glimpse at what we should expect:

 

 

Though Daredevil in no way dons the red leather outfit we saw him in back in 2003, that isn’t to say we won’t see him in something like his classic comics outfit somewhere in the first 13 hours Netflix is giving us. The more interesting things to note is how adult and dark this series looks. Keep in mind, these Netflix shows will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that includes the Avengers and Iron Man films. Films that have had a much lighter and comic book feel than say…Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Yet Nolan’s Batman is what I most want to compare this Daredevil trailer to. We’re seeing a very gritty cinematography here, with a young Matt Murdock putting together a makeshift costume to break a few faces on the street. No billy club or grappling ropes just yet. Though we may have already just seen some of the classic Daredevil villains hiding in that trailer, including the Kingpin who is set to be played by Vincent D’Onofrio. Just a little over 2 more months and all will be revealed.
