Christmas can often be a very…interesting time of year for many people. While others are having simple, jolly fun around the fireplace, drinking egg nog and opening presents, others are out having crazy adventures or worse. But as often is the case in the world of comics, everything seems to only be more exacerbated in sequential art. So here are some of the greatest, out there Christmas moments in comics.

Let’s start off with that wonderful story from Maximum Comics about Santa…when he was a Barbarian. People often forget that.

Or that horrible time a department store Santa tried to rob from Peter Parker’s loved ones and neighbors…a haunting Christmas eve that was!

Remember when Santa got hold of the Infinity Gauntlet in 2008′s Marvel Digital Holiday Special #1?

But sometimes Santa isn’t the villain in comics. Sometimes he’s just a victim…especially when WWE’s Ultimate Warrior knocks him out and steals his clothes in the Warrior X-mas special.

And I don’t believe I know a 90′s comic fan among us that isn’t still haunted by Lobo and his various holiday specials, particularly his paramilitary Christmas special.

But Christmas can also be a time for holiday dress up that doesn’t end in a violent beat down. Take Jim Lee’s variant to Fantastic Four #4 as an example.

Why, even the zombies participate in this festive holiday over at Antarctic Press!

Let it be said, that wasn’t the only time Dick Grayson failed during the holidays with a redheaded member of the Bat-family. Does anyone recall when he tried hitting on another red haired Bat-female during the 52 mini-series? Fans of Batwoman likely know where he went wrong here.

It is also quite common for the many comic companies to share in yuletide fun by sending out comic themed Christmas cards to their employees and those that interact with the company. Here is one of my favorites from Dark Horse a few years back:

Of course, Zenescope does a good job please fans with fan service, even when that fan is Santa!

Of course, there are plenty other great Christmas moments out there in comics, and we all have one we remember the most.
