Yes, you read that correctly. Exploding Kittens. According to their website it is a game “…for people who are into kittens and explosions and laser beams and sometimes goats.” So naturally, I bought it.
The funding for this game on Kickstarter set records that I am sure will not be broken for some time to come. By the time the campaign ended, there were 219,382 backers to project. That is more than DOUBLE the previous record of 105,857 backers, held by the folks at Reading Rainbow, since last summer. Now simply having an enormous number of project backers wasn’t enough, Exploding More >
Next week 20th Century Fox will begin filming their upcoming Assassin’s Creed live action movie, based on the incredible video game series by Ubisoft. The process of getting this film going has taken years, with Ubisoft standing hard at the helm and going through several film distributors before landing on 20th Century Fox. But with the aid of Michael Fassbender coming on as the lead actor and producer in the film over 2 years ago, things have started finally coming together. On Monday, August 31st, the Assassin’s Creed movie will begin filming in locations such as Malta, London, and Spain, More >

The time has finally come…LONG BEACH COMIC CON!! One of our absolute favorite shows for us here at SG2M. It is certainly my favorite, with its focus less on pop culture as a whole and more on comics, it is always the highlight of my convention season.
So what is there to expect at this years show? Let me tell you:
Everyone already knows that the LBCC Artist Alley really is one of the greatest AA’s of the entire convention scene. This year’s already sold out over a month ago, so get ready to start digging through your collections to find gems More >
When comic fans hear the name Garth Ennis the first thing they think of is probably extreme violence, derogatory language, nudity, or generally just Preacher, his popular Vertigo comic series. With titles like The Boys, The Pro, The Authority, Crossed, and Punisher Max under his belt there is certainly a theme to his writing style. So when it was announced at San Diego Comic Con this year that Garth Ennis’ new comic series would be a romance title released through Dynamite Entertainment, people were understandably taken a back. Ennis has done some interesting war and espionage titles through Dynamite, but More >
Frank Miller is back on Batman for a brand new piece in his Dark Knight series at DC Comics, Dark Knight III: The Master Race. Having already written stories like Batman Year One and All Star Batman and Robin that Miller considers officially cannon parts of his Dark Knight epic, this new piece could be the trilogy end cap for the officially titled Dark Knight comics. Why? Well, considering how many Frank Miller fans out there are still waiting for more Sin City that was promised to them or the prequel to 300, Xerxes, that was even previewed in Dark More >

Before this years D-23 Expo began the biggest rumor going in was that we were going to find out details about any new Star wars presence in the theme parks, especially the possibility of a new land dedicated to Star Wars. Today, that was exactly what we got. Bob Iger announced a very ambitious project. Star Wars Land would be coming to both Disney World in Florida, and Disneyland in Anaheim!!
Both lands will be about 14 acres, the largest single themed land expansions for Disney, and we are being told the land will fully submerse you into the Star Wars More >
It may not be everything you saw in the leaked San Diego Comic Con trailer, but it’s certainly more with a surprising addition of what appears to be story. This Deadpool movie might not be all just blood and jokes like many of us happily thought, but it still looks brilliant! Released through TBS’ Conan talk show, which had to go TV-MA for this trailer, you can now see the full official trailer down below. No shot from the hip mobile footage like last month, this is the real deal and it’s full of action and humour.
