League_of_legends_logo_transparentToday Riot Games announced (via leagueoflegends.com) that their Teambuilder queue will soon be a permanent part of the game in a future update! After what seems to be an overwhelmingly successful 48-hour beta test across each region that the game is currently available in, the top guns of Riot have decided that this needs to be in our lives.

Teambuilder is a queue type where you can quite literally pick your role and your champion before entering the queue, and then the matchmaking system will pair you up with other players looking for a game with the Teambuilder. You can enter as either a solo player, a captain (which will allow you more control over the team you’re placed on) or as a group of friends who may be looking for someone to fill a particular role. In my experiences with the Teambuilder during the Live Beta, players were not only less toxic in games, but were overall happier seeing as they were allowed to not only pick their desired role (which often they do not get in normal queues) but their desired champion without fear of being hazed by their teammates before the game even begins! Allowing a person to choose their role and champion before the game even begins also takes a lot of the stress off of champion select, allowing for an easier barrier of entry into the game, which could potentially open the door even further for the most played online multiplayer game in the world (to date!)
