JungleGirls3-0TThis April, the sexy queen of the Jungle is back at Dynamite Comics! That’s right, Frank Cho’s answer to characters like Shanna, Jana, and Sheena is back to fight dinosaurs in a skimpy leopard print bikini. We first saw Frank Cho’s Jungle Girl, Jana Sky-Born, back in the summer of 2007 when Cho had recently finished his 2005 Shanna, the She-Devil series up at Marvel and ventured over to Dynamite to work on Red Sonja. Obviously not over his classic Jungle Girl kick, he created a title very bluntly named after the century old archetype of buxom feminine jungle warriors (who often find themselves with blonde hair and feline printed bikinis). Season 2 of the series quickly followed in 2008, but then found an end. The series itself was never drawn by Frank, who did provide beautiful covers, but rather saw interior art in a similar style by the talented Adriano Batista. Frank was credited as the creator and co-writer, working alongside Doug Murray.

Now, almost 7-years later Dynamite is reviving Jana in season 3 of Frank Cho’s Jungle Girl. Once more Frank is listed as co-writer alongside Doug Murray, but now we see a new interior artist in the form of Jack Jadson. Dynamite fans might be familiar with Jadson from his work on Red Sonja, Vampirella, and Warriors’ of Mars or perhaps you might recall his issues of The Savage Hawkman. Jadson is a great artist and ideal choice for the interiors of a third season of Jungle Girl as you can see from some of the preview pages we have below.

Now when we last saw Jana the Jungle Girl, she had escaped from an underwater city and fired a torpedo into the eye of a gigantic Underworld-ly creature of some kind. Bad Move on Jana’s behalf! Her father tells her that those actions have doomed the Lost World in which they all live — and no sooner does he say that, then things begin to happen. A hole appears in the sky and flaming debris falls through. The jungle begins to burn… Jana and her friends are forced to turn a stampede of gigantic prehistoric creatures who are fleeing before the fire. Can Jana stop the stampede? Will she survive the displaced natives’ intent on claiming a new homeland? And what other alien materials will emerge from the hole in the sky?

The art we have from Jungle Girl Season 3 #1 looks incredible, but if you’re still wishing Frank Cho was drawing the girl in the leopard print loincloth, then you’ll absolutely adore the cover he’s providing! So get ready for more beautiful blonde jungle adventures, dinosaurs, and cavemen with automatic rifles come April 15th when Jungle Girl Season 3 #1 hits stores!
