Season 5 Of Game Of Thrones Nears With A New Trailer
Feb 3rd
When last we left the world of Westeros, via HBO’s popular TV series Game of Thrones, Daenerys Targaryen set powerfully across the narrow sea as the ruler of Meereen and a rather powerful ex-slave army. Theon Greyjoy still found himself painfully enslaved to the Boltons, while Davos Seaworth and Stannis Baratheon prepared to journey North. Another so-called King had fallen, as has a wonderful prince, the Starks are still spread throughout the land without any claim to their heritage, and everyone’s favorite dwarf is currently a fugitive. So what could possibly unfold come season 5? So very much more! Readers More >
Frozen Fever - A First Glimpse At The New Frozen Mini-film
Feb 2nd
Whether you’re still singing the Oscar award winning theme song of Frozen, or you’ve long since ‘Let It Go’, if you’re a fan of Disney’s Frozen you’ll probably adore this new news. Elsa, Olaf, Anna, and the rest are back this spring to sing away the cold! In a nearly contradictory name to that cheesy preceding line I wrote, Frozen Fever is the title of a new 7-minute short film featuring the cast of Frozen. Best of all? It has yet another new song by the award winning creative team that wrote ‘Let It Go’, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. More >

Jan 30th
Disney has confirmed that Star Wars Episodes VIII and IX have a release dates. In the annual shareholders letter, CEO Bob Iger had this to say on the subject:
“As one of the few people allowed to visit the set during filming… and one of the fewer who’s seen most of the footage… I can assure the millions of ‘Star Wars’ fans who have spent the last decade hoping for a new movie this one will be worth the wait. And it’s only the beginning of a new era of exceptional ‘Star Wars’ storytelling; next year we’ll release our first standalone More >
Important To Read Before This Week’s Spider-Verse; A Reading Order
Jan 21st
The popular Spider-Man event, Spider-Verse, is very reliant on what would traditionally be peripheral crossover books in most major Marvel events. Rather than using the Spider-Verse tie-ins as a cheap ploy to sell additional books or up the sales numbers on lower selling series, the Spider-Verse tie-ins have all played an integral part in telling the story of Spider-Men from every universe coming together to fight the deadly Inheritors. Almost every issue of the main Spider-Man title, Amazing Spider-Man, has been filled with captions serving as cliff notes that point the reader off in different directions where subplots continue and More >
Marvel’s Secret Wars Press Conference - The End of the Marvel Universe As We Know It?
Jan 20th
“There is nothing wrong with typical Stan Lee hyperbole“. That was the line I’ll remember most from Executive Editor Tom Brevoort as far as today’s press conference goes. Why? Because today they officially announced and detailed the upcoming Marvel mega event, Secret Wars. In a press conference that took place at New York City’s infamous Midtown Comics, Brevoort and Marvel Editor-In-Chief Axel Alonso attempted to break the internet with plans for the upcoming event and the future of the Marvel Universe. Immediately afterwards I spoke to several other journalists, retailers, and fans. Immediately after the video below, showing the entirety More >
Batman Vs Robin - DC’s 23rd Original Animated Film
Jan 17th
Based on several Batman storylines of the New 52 era of comics, the Batman Vs Robin animated film from DC and Warner Bros Animation looks to play perfectly as a sequel to the Son of Batman direct-to-video animated film. Batman Vs Robin is to adapt the Court of Owls and Night of Owls storylines from Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s run on Batman that started in 2011. However, it also looks to include aspects of the opening Batman and Robin storyline of the New 52 by Peter J. Tomasi and Patrick Gleason, which focused on Damian defying his father and going More >
Image Expo ’15: Chip Zdarsky Reads Just The Tips
Jan 16th
Last Friday, shortly after the closure of Image Expo 2015 and its related retailer summit, comic creator Chip Zdarsky sat down for a signing at a San Francisco sex shop, Good Vibrations. For most comic creators this might be an odd place for a signing, but for the artist behind Sex Criminals and so many other hilarious writings, drawings, and antics this was the perfect stage for Mr. Zdarsky. Recently Chip and Sex Criminals co-creator, Matt Fraction, published an adult book based on the letters column for their comic series, entitled Just The Tips. Just The Tips, which was released in More >
IDW - None Yesterday, But Many Next Week
Jan 15th
Some of you fans, customers, and retailers may have noticed something a little off from one of Diamond’s top tier comic publishers yesterday. IDW released zero comics on January 14th, the second comic book release day of 2015. If you didn’t notice it we consider that very understandable considering all the focus on Marvel’s Star Wars #1 release. Those who did catch the lack of comics from San Diego’s popular comic publisher might have simply presumed it was to avoid releases being buried under the flood of Star Wars variants and sheer quantity of Marvel’s major 2015 release. But this More >
